2005 Season

2005 Season: Most Los Al football fans already expected the 2005 season would be a rebuilding year but then disciplinary actions forced the coaching staff to reinvent the lineup Week 2.

The seniors that will lead this team are A.J. Julian, Ross Hill, Ryan Pettys, Mike McCoy, Ken Bracey, Chris Hardwick, Dustin Abrams, Phil Cabrera, Jason Davis, Anthony Giambona, Brent Barkwill, David Compton, Travis McBride, Craig Chambers, Jaymes Kine, Matt Hayashi, and Toby Turpin. Defensive back Ross Hill stepped into the quarterback breech and led Los Al to seven straight victories.  The Griffins almost had an eighth but they fell to Edison 27-19 in another thriller between the two teams.  The young Griffins then struggled in tough losses to eventual CIF finalist Esperanza (despite Hill completing 20 passes) and to Colton in the first round of CIF play.  Defensive end Toby Turpin earned all-county honors and placekicker Dustin Abrams finished a career that saw him converting 10 of 12 field goals, including a 40 yarder.
